In Castle in the Air, a good djinn enslaved by his younger brother Dalzel, who took Hasruel's "life" and hid it. Hasruel takes many forms throughout the novel, including, many times, his own. Hasruel is a wonderful example of a villain from one of DWJ's worlds who is not intrinsically, but who is motivated by things that run counter to the motivations of the hero.
