The world that contains Arth and the Pentarchy has multiple gods and goddesses, and various of its people have special relations to each of them. One of those gods is the beautiful butterfly-winged god Asphorael, who is requested to appear to one of the Earth visitors near the end of the novel. Their conversation eventually results in positive outcomes for both worlds.
